I’m incredibly grateful for the positive response to my candidacy announcement. We all share a deep love for our community and a desire to see it thrive.
As we look to the future of Winter Springs, I want to focus on three key areas that I believe are essential for our continued growth and success:
1. Fiscal Responsibility and Financial Management: With my background as an IRS Enrolled Agent and an MBA in Accounting, I prioritize ensuring that our city’s budget is managed responsibly. Through a recent public records request, it has become evident that our city lacks robust internal controls. I am committed to establishing and maintaining these controls to ensure financial accuracy and transparency. Additionally, I will assist the city in complying with all financial audits, working closely with the finance director to ensure a positive and productive experience for the city.
2. Infrastructure Improvements: Our city’s stormwater, wastewater, and drainage systems need attention. These issues have been patched up rather than fully addressed for too long. I am committed to working on sustainable, long-term solutions to ensure our infrastructure can support our community’s growth and protect our homes and businesses.
3. Economic Support for Local Businesses: While Winter Springs is primarily a residential community, our mom-and-pop shops and local businesses play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Recently, we’ve seen several companies to close down or move out of the city, and even some high-profile businesses in Central Florida have faced tough times. I am committed to fostering a supportive environment for these local businesses, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive. By encouraging a strong local economy that complements our community’s residential character, we can help maintain Winter Springs as a vibrant and desirable place to live.
